Cops ’n’ Kids of Easton Reading Room celebrated National Summer Learning Day with its theme, “Color Your World with Books.” Highlighting a different color each week, Thursday, 7/14/16, the color was BLACK. Stories focused on ‘describing’ words vs ‘naming’ words, celebrating black children and connection to African origins with drumming as a musical and communication tool. Charged with high energy, participants had fun in a drum circle lead by Bill Rosebrock listening, repeating and creating their own rhythms. The session ended with a healthy snack of blackberries and free books to take home.
