Holiday Program

December 15, 2012. The holiday season was ushered in with a Saturday program featuring the story, The Little Drummer Boy whose gift was that of drumming.  That same gift was shared with the visitors to the Reading Room by Patrick McIvor whose drumming skills helped teach about drums as the strong voice of music.  We learned how drums were also used by other cultures to communicate with beats that sent messages.  Joining in, the visitors beat on coffee can drums that were later decorated to make each person’s drum unique.  The sounds of Christmas, including that of The Little Drummer Boy, got everyone into the spirit of holiday season.
