Fire Prevention Month

October being Fire Prevention Month, the brave fire fighters of the Easton Fire Department let the children visiting the Reading Room get up front and personal with them and the fire equipment and fire truck. After sharing a favorite story about Curious George and his visit to the fire department and discussing what one should do if fire breaks out in the home, the children got to see a fireman put on his equipment as if going to fight a real fire. This included donning his oxygen tank making him sound like Darth Vader. The final fun was to climb aboard the fire truck and see how the truck is equipped to help firemen fight fires. Great thanks to those fearless people who help keep us all safe from harm.
