Having a Heart

During the month of February, Teresa Wright-Johnson visited the Reading Room and shared her story of having a heathy heart after open-heart surgery and what it takes to keep a healthy heart, including exercise and eating nourishing food. “Having a heart ” also included making melted crayon hearts to share with a family member or friend as an act of kindness.
Dr. Seuss’s Birthday

On March 2 children in the Pre-K class from Millie’s Creative Learning Center visited the Reading Room. They celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday by hearing One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and using their drawing and cutting skills to make hand print red fish and blue fish puppets. They did a swimming good job!!
Welcoming the New Year with Chinese Traditions

Cops ’n’ Kids of Easton welcomed 2017 with story of how the New Year is celebrated with Chinese traditions. Visitors to the Reading Room created Chinese banners expressing wishes for the New Year and took home mandarin oranges traditionally given as expression of good luck wishes for the New Year. Happy 2017 to all!
