On October 28, 2014, Judith Dickerson, Director of Cops ’n’ Kids of Easton was officially presented with the first annual George Wolf Public Education Award by Mr. Viglianti, Principal of Paxinosa Elementary School. She was recognized for her dedication and contributions in promoting public education through her leadership of the Cops ’n’ Kids of Easton Children’s Literacy Program. Easton Area School District Superintendent, Mr. John Reinhart, announced the recipients to be honored at the convocation ceremony opening the school year on August 20, 2014.
Selected as one of the recipients of the award, Mrs. Dickerson is honored to be recognized for the impact that the Cops ’n’ Kids of Easton has been able to make in three years of existence. They include literacy related initiatives at both Paxinosa and Cheston Elementary Schools and community organizations in addition to putting of over 43,000 books in the hands of children who might not otherwise know the joy of owning their own books.
